Beets are considered super healthy. They are dense with nutrients such as potassium, betaine, magnesium, folate, and Vitamin C with a shot of nitrates as well. They are great for your heart, may improve stamina for exercising, and may improve brain function. How cool is all that? I’m not a medical professional so if you want to know more, here is a great article from Medical News Today.
Beets are naturally sweet but I couldn’t resist adding banana and pineapple to this smoothie. And of course, Greek yogurt to give it a creamy texture. I’m pretty sure avocado would be awesome as well to add another layer of creaminess.
The picture above doesn’t give justice to the bright red color of the finished product. Wouldn’t this be great on Valentine’s Day morning? It makes enough that you could share it with your favorite love. I can’t think of a better way to say “I Love You” than with a red, heart-healthy Beet Power Smoothie. 🙂
Until next time…Cheers!
