Here we are. The day before a new decade begins. It’s quiet here right now. Jack and I hosted three Christmas events this past week and I think I have finally recuperated from that :). He is off to work for a while before coming home to watch the Liberty Bowl (go Wildcats!). So, I have a short time to reflect on the past year, decide how I’m welcoming the New Year, and get ready for a great 2020!
Did you notice that I didn’t tell you exactly how I’m welcoming the New Year? Well, that’s because I have no idea yet…Yikes! Now, as you get to know me, you will soon realize that I’m a planner by nature but married to a procrastinator. He’s a “fly by the seat of your pants” guy. I have made mention for the past few weeks that we should do something on New Year’s Eve but no plans yet. We typically stay at home. However, this New Year’s Eve feels different. A new decade, new beginnings, and a general feeling of great things to come. I’m not sure if we will make it out this evening or not but either way I’m going to be ready for an awesome year!
Have you all set goals for 2020? I have a few :). My biggest one is self-care. That means healthier food choices, exercise, and “me time”. I tend to put everyone else above myself and I’m learning that isn’t healthy. By taking better care of my emotional, spiritual, and physical self, I can be a better presence for others.
In regards to healthier food choices, I will be working on some revamping of my “tried and true” recipes as well as new creations. Be sure to check out the dinner section under recipes. I plan to start there.
I will keep this blog post short. I just wanted to reach out and wish you all a safe and happy New Year’s Eve. Thank you for being here on this journey with me. We’re in each other’s life for a reason. Thanks for showing up. I hope that 2020 is your best year ever!
Until next time…Cheers!
