Comfort food definitely includes these Smothered Oven Burgers! Super simple to make any day of the week and that rich, creamy gravy…well, it doesn’t get any better than that 🙂
Happy New Year’s Eve Day! Who’s ready for a new year? 🙂
For the record, I’m a comfort food gal but I’m guessing most of you know that, LOL. Add simple and quick to that and I’m in! These Smothered Oven Burgers are the perfect comfort food. The gravy is rich in flavor and who doesn’t like a burger loaded with gravy? The perfect addition to this recipe is always bread/rolls! Here’s one of my favorite 🙂
I have been making these Smothered Oven Burgers for years. Like most recipe creations, it has been a lot of trial and error to get where we are today. The verdict? These burgers are exactly what I envisioned. 🙂
Basic Ingredients:
- lean ground beef
- onion
- Panko bread crumbs
- milk
- salt
- pepper
- all-purpose flour
- Worcestershire sauce
- beef broth
- ketchup
I know I have mentioned before how I like simple and quick recipes with minimal cleanup. Now that I have grandkids, this is even more important. My grandson doesn’t live close so we only cook virtually together but my granddaughter is local and loves to help in the kitchen! Littles can definitely help prepare these burgers. Mixing the ground beef and forming into burgers and whisking the gravy are great for building motor skills. We always add a bit of singing too!
It’s been cold and snowy here in Iowa with more on the way tomorrow so you can bet I made these burgers again last night. I also worked on a new dinner roll recipe and I can safely say “they were awesome”! I smothered them (see the theme here?) in butter and garlic. Only change I would make is more garlic!!! **recipe will be on the blog next week**
Here’s to wishing you all a great New Year’s Eve and Happy New Year!!
Until next time…Cheers!
